App Description

WePublish is a digital community publishing app that allows you to write, illustrate, publish and print your own 8-page book. It is a powerful tool to support literacy development and is aligned to the work of Kids Own Publishing. Children will love the collage tools and handmade aesthetic that reflects the philosophy of Kids Own Publishing.

Features:

  • Create 8-page storybooks, which can be emailed or printed as a PDF direct from the app.
  • Create a collage of artwork for each page, including text items, painting by finger stroke, and adding images (either photos from your camera roll or textures from an included library, both of which can be trimmed to a border with your finger).
  • View your book either as individual pages, or as a single-page “Imposition”.
  • Maintain and store a library of books on your iPad.
  • Undo/Redo your work if you make a mistake, or press a button to clear your page and start over.

Collaborative Project

This project was created from scratch, based on discussions of the initial idea with the client. I developed this app as a part of the team with PROJECT SYNTHESIS (http://projectsynthesis NULL.com NULL.au). The development team created all designs and UI assets for the project, and the client provided the tutorial video and texture images. I developed the systems for book creation and management, each of the art tools for creating books, book Imposition and PDF creation, app navigation and user experience.
